Norwegian no-code web design platform Vev has acquired Time’s website builder, Time Sites, strengthening its position in the enterprise web development space. As part of the deal, Salesforce co-founder and Time owner Marc Benioff becomes a shareholder in Vev.
Founded in 2017, Vev enables organisations to create interactive content and websites without requiring complex coding. The acquisition of Time Sites, now rebranded as Sites, brings new capabilities to Vev’s platform, expanding its reach among media, marketing teams, and technology firms looking to develop dynamic digital content. The deal also marks a major step in Vev’s expansion into the US market.
Time originally acquired Sites in 2022, positioning it as a tool for sales, marketing, and customer success teams to create personalised, account-based microsites. By integrating Sites’ technology and customer base, Vev aims to accelerate its growth and enhance its suite of digital storytelling tools.
Tine Karlsen, CEO of Vev, said: “Having Marc Benioff as an investor, with his years of leadership in SaaS, in addition to bringing Sites into the Vev fold, represents an immense opportunity, especially for the US market. Marc’s leadership and experience in cloud computing and enterprise software will be invaluable to our growth, and the SITES team and existing technology will have a significant impact on the digital storytelling features of our platform.”
Following the acquisition, Sites’ Kristina Valkanoff will join Vev as Country Manager for the United States, leading the company’s expansion efforts in North America.
Jessica Sibley, CEO of Time, added: “Since 2022, Time has delivered exceptional digital experiences that capture our customers’ stories with quality, speed, and scale through the TIME Sites platform and team. Vev shares our passion for digital storytelling and a proven commitment to innovation and growth, making them the ideal home for Time Sites customers.”
Vev has raised £5.5 million in funding and operates across 40 countries, working with clients such as LidL US, Schibsted, Politico Studio, and Pfizer. The company employs 33 staff across six countries and has significantly expanded its presence within large enterprises.
