Apollo.io, the AI-driven sales intelligence platform, has announced two senior appointments as it enters a new chapter of growth.
Marcio Arnecke joins as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) and Adam Carr steps into the role of Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), signalling the company’s intent to accelerate its go-to-market strategy and cement its position as a category leader in AI-powered sales.
The appointments come as Apollo crosses the $100m annual recurring revenue milestone, transitioning from a fast-scaling startup to a maturing enterprise technology player. Arnecke and Carr join a strengthened executive team that recently welcomed Bela Stepanova as Chief Product Officer and Matt Curl as Chief Operating Officer.
Strategic repositioning
The appointments coincide with a broader strategic rebrand at Apollo, which is shifting its messaging away from product features to a more impact-driven narrative. The company serves millions of sales and marketing professionals at over 500,000 companies worldwide and is focused on helping go-to-market teams discover, engage and convert prospects through advanced data and AI capabilities.
“Apollo is transforming how sales teams operate,” said Apollo CEO and co-founder Tim Zheng. “Marcio and Adam bring the depth of experience and strategic thinking needed to lead us into our next phase of growth. Their backgrounds in scaling high-performing teams and their deep knowledge of AI-powered sales will help us expand globally and deliver even greater value to our customers.”
Arnecke brings scale-up pedigree
As CMO, Arnecke will lead Apollo’s global marketing strategy and brand evolution. He previously held leadership roles at Zendesk and Intercom, where he helped scale revenues from $40m to over $1.7bn and supported Intercom’s path to IPO. His expertise in building and internationalising B2B SaaS brands will now underpin Apollo’s ambition to define the AI sales intelligence category.
“Apollo stands out for its transparency and the accuracy of its data,” said Arnecke. “The combination of AI and rich, reliable insights is exactly what modern sales teams need. I’m excited to position Apollo as the definitive platform for businesses looking to scale intelligently.”
Carr to lead global revenue engine
Carr joins from Miro and previously Box, bringing extensive experience in enterprise sales and Product-Led Growth (PLG) models. At Apollo, he will lead the company’s revenue organisation, overseeing sales, partnerships, customer success and onboarding.
“What excites me is Apollo’s ability to turn AI and data into outcomes,” said Carr. “This isn’t about more dashboards—it’s about giving sales teams the ability to connect with the right customers, faster and more efficiently. We’re building a unified system that supports growth at every stage of the sales journey.”
Next phase of expansion
Apollo’s latest hires underscore a clear shift from growth-stage scaling to operational maturity. With a sharpened brand narrative and a reinforced leadership team, the company is positioning itself to lead the next wave of AI-driven go-to-market innovation.
As B2B sales organisations continue to demand smarter, more connected workflows, Apollo is betting that intelligent automation, precision data, and unified execution will be the winning formula.
