Telecom operators must embrace AI-driven transformation to unlock new revenue opportunities in B2B, according to leaders at Huawei’s Carrier B2B Digital Innovation Summit, held as part of the Huawei Tech Carnival and Partner Summit 2025 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
Themed “Grow Together, Win AI Intelligent Era,” the summit brought together telecom executives, industry experts, and Huawei leadership to explore how carriers can capitalise on emerging technologies to grow their B2B services and transition from traditional network providers to AI-powered technology companies.
Opening the summit, Allen Tang, President of ICT Marketing & Solution Sales at Huawei Middle East and Central Asia (ME&CA), described the B2B market as the “main engine of carrier revenue growth,” citing a global CAGR of more than 10%. He argued that AI’s rapid development presents a critical opportunity for operators to reimagine enterprise offerings and infrastructure.
Eric Li, President of Huawei’s ICT Product Portfolio Marketing & Solution Sales Department, echoed the sentiment: “AI is now,” he said. “Carriers must reconstruct their digital services and connectivity through cloud-based AI foundations to better support enterprise customers.”
Several sessions focused on the practical technology underpinning this shift. Shi Lei, VP of Huawei’s NCE-Datacom Domain, introduced the company’s “one network, one map, one brain” architecture for intelligent IP networking, enabling self-driving networks designed to enhance performance and operational agility across all B2B use cases.
Wang Huaxin, Advanced Business Development Manager, highlighted new cloud services such as Cloud Stack, MobileMoney, KooDrive and KooPhone. Together, he said, they form the region’s fastest-growing enterprise cloud platform, poised to support scalable AI adoption.
Farid Ben Asker, Director of Carrier Partner Development at Huawei ME&CA, stressed the importance of strategic transformation: “Telcos must evolve their infrastructure, partnerships and solution integration models to offer AI-powered services that meet industry demands.”
The summit also featured a standout case study from Omantel, presented by Nasser Al-Harthi, Head of Business Connectivity. He showcased the company’s new Wi-Fi-as-a-Service solution—powered by Huawei’s iMaster NCE platform—which is the first managed Wi-Fi 7 deployment in Oman. The initiative underlined how AI-led automation and advanced connectivity can deliver secure, scalable infrastructure for enterprise clients.
In closing remarks, Alex Xu, President of Carrier Business at Huawei ME&CA, said: “Carriers are evolving into TechCos, with B2B at the heart of that journey. Huawei will continue to invest in carrier success—through one-stop platforms and AI-ready cloud infrastructure—to help partners lead in digital transformation.”
The summit marked a strategic moment for telecoms across the Middle East and Central Asia, as Huawei and its partners seek to redefine the role of carriers in a fast-moving digital economy. With B2B services and AI at the centre of this shift, the message from Tashkent was clear: telcos must act now to build the digital capabilities of tomorrow.
