The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) and the National Institute of Marketing Nigeria (NIMN) have unveiled a partnership aimed at enhancing the marketing profession in both Nigeria and the UK.

This collaboration seeks to benefit marketers, businesses, and society by providing opportunities for career development, professional recognition, and access to resources that support the evolving needs of marketing professionals.

The partnership aligns professional qualifications and memberships across both organisations. Marketers will have access to development opportunities and streamlined pathways for gaining recognition in both countries. The initiative simplifies entry to or exemption from qualifications based on equivalent levels of study or specific modules completed at either CIM or NIMN.

Additionally, the partnership introduces joint membership options, enabling Associate Partner members to apply for graded CIM membership, access member benefits, and pursue Chartered Marketer status by completing required Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities.

Chris Daly, Chief Executive of CIM, commented: “The official collaboration between CIM and NIMN is founded on our mutual goal to elevate the marketing profession for the benefit of individuals, businesses, and society as a whole. This strategic alliance, along with our mutual recognition of memberships and qualifications, enables us to offer professional marketers in Nigeria and the UK a clear pathway to advance their careers.”

Supporting Career Growth for Marketers

The collaboration is expected to significantly support marketers in both countries by aligning professional marketing qualifications and simplifying access to career opportunities, research, and networking. It aims to facilitate professional growth through expanded access to training and insights into emerging trends.

NIMN President Mr Idy Enang stated: “Both CIM and NIMN are united by a shared vision to develop and advance the marketing profession. This partnership offers marketers numerous opportunities for professional growth through expanded access to training, qualifications, and the latest thought leadership. By providing insights into emerging trends, we empower professionals in Nigeria and the UK with the tools needed to enhance their skills, navigate uncertainty, and drive business growth for the benefit of society at large.”

Strategic Alliance for Professional Development

The partnership underscores the shared goals of CIM and NIMN in fostering a global approach to professional marketing. It is designed to offer marketers the tools, knowledge, and support needed to enhance their skills and navigate the challenges of a dynamic business environment.

By aligning qualifications and providing joint membership opportunities, CIM and NIMN are making it easier for marketers to gain recognition and advance their careers in a competitive market. Both organisations aim to empower marketers to make meaningful contributions to their industries and society.

With this partnership, CIM and NIMN set a precedent for international collaboration in professional marketing, supporting the profession’s growth and development in both Nigeria and the UK.
