At Zoomtopia 2024, Zoom and ServiceNow revealed an expanded strategic partnership aimed at transforming enterprise productivity through the integration of their generative AI tools, ServiceNow, Now Assist and Zoom AI Companion.

This collaboration, set to roll out in the first half of 2025, will automate workflows and enhance collaboration, allowing businesses to streamline tasks and move projects forward more efficiently.

With rising demand for AI-driven tools across industries, this partnership reflects the growing need for solutions that enable employees to focus on higher-value work by automating administrative tasks. The integration of ServiceNow’s and Zoom’s AI technologies is expected to reduce administrative burdens, helping organisations better manage projects and workflows.

AI-Led Business Strategies for Greater Efficiency

According to ServiceNow’s CEO, Bill McDermott, the integration marks a shift from businesses being fascinated by AI to embracing AI-led strategies that deliver significant operational improvements. “ServiceNow and Zoom share a goal to supercharge teamwork,” McDermott said. “Our new integration goes from conversation to immediate action, saving time and freeing up resources so employees can focus on the work that matters most.”

Zoom’s founder and CEO, Eric S. Yuan, echoed these sentiments, highlighting how the collaboration will enhance user experience and productivity. Yuan noted that the integration of Zoom AI Companion with ServiceNow’s Now Assist would “take productivity to the next level, empowering customers to move seamlessly from meetings to productivity, reducing admin time and streamlining workflows.”

Generative AI for Workflow Automation

The integration of Zoom AI Companion and ServiceNow Now Assist will create a unified experience for teams, automating workflow steps based on meeting discussions. For example, Zoom AI Companion will be able to summarise and transcribe conversations during virtual meetings and, with permission, convert those discussions into actionable tasks connected to ServiceNow’s workflows. These tasks can then trigger next steps, such as creating and assigning tickets, with email notifications sent to attendees, including insights and summaries of meeting outcomes.

This integration enhances the existing partnership between Zoom and ServiceNow, allowing businesses to transform unstructured meeting conversations into structured data, which can be efficiently managed and tracked through intelligent workflows.

The new integration will require the purchase of both Zoom’s custom AI Companion add-on and ServiceNow’s Now Assist. The AI Companion add-on, announced at Zoomtopia, will be available to customers in the first half of 2025.
